Yeah definitely! It doesn’t have to be for everyone. I was just saying that it often gets a bad rep for being very religious (some groups and areas unfortunately are.) For me, it’s more the act of living in a way that lets me go about positivity and helping others. The power greater than myself is just an act of turning something over and also being in tune with my fellow human beings (not all will buy into this, I get that.) However, I don’t believe that a power greater than myself will stop me from drinking. I look at it as more of a practice of being in tune with the world and others around me. I can go into more philosophical detail but that might not interest everyone haha.

I've tried and recommended some of those things. We used to play games online together too. But he's more of the type to need me to be physically there. It's ironic because I learned to be more independent and keep my distance because of him. I used to be the one who always wanted to see and hang out with him, while he was fine with just seeing me once or twice a week before I left to go work overseas. The vulnerable part, I've always been the more emotional and vulnerable one in my family and in social situations, and I've been shut down a lot to by family and friends so it's hard to open up to people and just be their ears.
