I think you have it backward? Winter is when time is "normal". Summer is Daylight Saving Time. So when the sun rises at 6am and sets at 9pm during DST it would actually rise at 5am and set at 8pm. Or whenever it sets depending on your actual location. But you said it effects summer, so I gave a summer example. 4:39am is a little early for sunrise. I don’t know if it would affect the winter or summertime schedule. I do know that the further away from the equator you get, it seems that DST becomes more important. Arizona does not have daylight savings time either and I love it. I moved to California and said wtf is this bullshit.

No real benefit in Colombia is so close to the equator. The only reason you'd do it is to stay in the same time zone relative to the U.S. and presumably your neighbors if they also change clocks. Up further north, there's a large difference between the amount of daylight in winter vs. summer. In summer it would be getting light out before you wake up which kinds screws with sleep. So, we move the clocks forward. There are also some energy savings since businesses are open during daylight hours. I've tried and recommended some of those things. We used to play games online together too. But he's more of the type to need me to be physically there. It's ironic because I learned to be more independent and keep my distance because of him.
