Then I begin to get defensive and try to clear my name as if I’m a suspect in a murder case. I had this issue with my roommate. I had to explain to them more than once and very thoroughly that if I’m asking if they’ve seen something it’s because my room is a mess I can’t find it anywhere and I’m just hoping they might have seen it lying around somewhere and don’t suspect them in stealing.

No real benefit in Colombia is so close to the equator. The only reason you'd do it is to stay in the same time zone relative to the U.S. and presumably your neighbors if they also change clocks. Up further north, there's a large difference between the amount of daylight in winter vs. summer. In summer it would be getting light out before you wake up which kinds screws with sleep. So, we move the clocks forward. There are also some energy savings since businesses are open during daylight hours. I've tried and recommended some of those things. We used to play games online together too. But he's more of the type to need me to be physically there. It's ironic because I learned to be more independent and keep my distance because of him. I used to be the one who always wanted to see and hang out with him, while he was fine with just seeing me once or twice a week before I left to go work overseas. The vulnerable part, I've always been the more emotional and vulnerable one in my family and in social situations, and I've been shut down a lot to by family and friends so it's hard to open up to people and just be their ears.
